Water Storage Systems

Product Types

In our country, the per capita water availability is 1.1550 m³ per year. Considering that according to TUIK data, our population is expected to reach 100 million by 2030, it is anticipated that this figure will decrease to 1,000 m³ per year and we will join the ranks of water-poor countries. It is a striking fact that only 30% of the decreasing rainfall contributes to groundwater, and the considerable amount of rainwater that cannot be utilized remains unused. Considering that water prices also increase in line with the importance of water, collecting and storing rainwater and utilizing it is an extremely effective method both in terms of environmental and water resource conservation and in terms of economic gain. Especially nowadays, the use of potable network waters for irrigation purposes, which reaches significant amounts, is a significant loss both environmentally and economically.

Green Building Certification Systems worldwide, along with evolving technologies to reduce water consumption, each country has determined the usage of these technologies with regulations, standards, or scientific guides and ensured their widespread adoption.

The inclusion of rainwater usage in urban planning regulations by municipalities in our country serves as an example of the importance given to this issue.

Advantages of Rain Harvesting

  • Agricultural irrigation and broader scale water harvesting techniques can reduce water usage.
  • It is a free and alternative water source. Depending on your region’s rainfall capacity and if your infrastructure is suitable, you can achieve savings of up to 55% in water usage. Rainwater usage is not only economically beneficial but also necessary in terms of environmental sensitivity.
  • Rainwater harvesting from building roofs can reduce the use of municipal water.
  • Depending on the size of the project, investment and operating costs are generally low.
  • Installation and operation are easy.
  • It can be integrated with the existing water supply system. Adaptation to the system is easy.
  • Compared to other water supply projects, it has fewer adverse environmental effects.
  • It helps preserve existing water resources.
  • It can be readily used in emergencies (earthquakes, sudden droughts, etc.).
  • Especially in airports, military zones, stadiums, tourist facilities, production facilities, and buildings with sufficiently large roof areas, collecting rainwater, subjecting it to simple purification processes, and making it available for use is an important measure for water conservation in buildings.

Where and How is Rainwater Collected?

  • Rainwater can be collected from various hard surfaces such as roofs, parking lots, and roads, as well as from drainage pipes around buildings/walls. The cleanest rainwater is collected from the roof, so passing the water through a single-stage or cascade filter is sufficient. Since rainwater collected from roads or parking lots may contain pollutants such as dust, dirt, oil leakage from vehicles, rubber particles from tires, etc., a dual-stage filter capable of filtering out these pollutants should be preferred.
  • The collected rainwater is directed to the rainwater filter through pipes, and the filtered water is stored in a tank.
  • Filtration is a mechanical process that separates large amounts of pollutants such as leaves, sand, bird droppings, etc., which are important conditions for using rainwater, and prevents them from entering the water tank. It is easily cleanable.
  • The square meterage of the area where rainwater will be collected is proportional to the amount of rainwater harvested.

Where Can Collected Rainwater Be Used?

Washing Machine

Dermatological research has shown that rainwater can also be used for homes and businesses. There is no bacteriological difference between laundry washed in rainwater and laundry washed in drinking water.

WC ;

A hospital in Bad Berka, Germany, managed to reduce water consumption costs by 20% using rainwater. This amount was approximately 36,144 m³ in the year 2000. The savings achieved until 2006 amounted to approximately 1.5 million euros.

Garden Irrigation;

Cleaning Works;

Car Washing;

Production/Process Water:

In factories and manufacturing plants.

General Household Use:

The amount of water to be used from the mains can be reduced to zero with a simple treatment process.

SFR Rain Water Storage and Usage System

  • Independent and collective residential units, hotels, etc., apply water methods in desired sizes and capacities in firms and living spaces.
  • The crucial condition for ensuring the quality of rainwater collected in tanks is compliance with technical standards.
  • Errors in the design and structure of tanks can lead to rainwater being of low quality, detectable by a distinct odor.
  • It has management modules compliant with current regulations. Proper use of SFR equipment enables the purification of rainwater to various usage standards. Automatic activation/deactivation of supply from the mains based on water levels enables energy and water savings.
  • In addition to above-ground applications, it provides the opportunity for underground applications, enabling space-saving. With a single tank of up to 50,000 liters and its combinable system, it allows unlimited options and volumes of storage.

DOUBLE WALLED UNDERGROUND POLYETHYLENE TANKS

  • Plastic parts are produced with HDPE, which stands for High-Density Polyethylene, a product of the German-based BASELL POLYMERS.
  • The PE raw material used is UV stabilized. Therefore, even if the tank is left exposed, it is not affected by the ultraviolet rays of the sun, does not harden, and does not fade in color.
  • Polyethylene performs excellently even below freezing temperatures.
  • Polyethylene exhibits resistance to many chemical substances (detailed list available upon request).
  • Polyethylene tanks do not need to be insulated against heat, water, or chemicals.
  • Polyethylene tanks do not rust, decay, mold, or corrode.
  • Polyethylene tanks are not affected by the salt content in the soil or salty water in coastal areas.
  • Polyethylene is a material with an extremely long lifespan.
  • Polyethylene is a flexible and impact-resistant material. Therefore, it does not crack during ground movements and maintains its leak-proof integrity.
  • The raw material and paint (masterbatch) of all plastic components forming the tank are certified.
