Fike explosion suppression systems detect a combustion reaction in its incipient stage and inject chemical suppressant agent into the process to quickly stop the development of pressure and flames before the deflagration becomes catastrophic.

Fike explosion suppression products work as described below:

An ember, spark or another ignition source reaches a combustible dust Cloud, resulting in a deflagration.
Pressure detectors or optical detectors identify the beginning stages of the deflegration.
The EPACO control system reads the pressure increasei activates the suppression system and shuts down the process.
Suppression bottles inject extinguishing agent into the vessel and stops the pressure rise.
After reset and refurbishment (replacement of suppressant powder and actuators), the production process may resume.
