Water Based Fire Extinguishing Systems
Product Types
DuraQuench Water Mist System
In 2015, Fike launched DuraQuench, a low-pressure pumped water mist system that connects directly to a building’s water supply or reservoir to provide long-term fire suppression. The water mist system offers reliable, environmentally friendly fire suppression that prevents the harmful effects of traditional sprinkler systems in environments where critical assets are located.
Benefits of system:
- Just one unit can protect multiple zones, creating endless possibilities for system design and configuration.
- Low-pressure system provides maximum design flexibility in piping options including copper, stainless steel and CPVC light hazard applications, all available from your preferred local supplier.
- It can be used in situations where the installation of a new water tank for sprinkler systems requires improvements to the water supply line and in other scenarios where water resources are limited.
The FM Approved Applications of the FIKE DuraQuench Water Mist System are listed below:
Data Centers
Uses closed-head pre-action system nozzles for server rooms, including vertical nozzles for subfloors. It has FM approvals for data processing rooms (both above and below ground) and local application design.
Turbines (Steam and Diesel)
The open nozzle deluge system suppresses fires on pumps, bearings, and shafts by filling the area with water mist, as well as extinguishing oil fires. It is an ideal alternative for CO2 suppression.
Machine Enclosures
An open nozzle deluge system can be used for areas including internal combustion engines, oil pumps, oil tanks, fuel filters, generators, and more. It is an ideal alternative for CO2 suppression.
Light Hazard Situations
A wet alarm system that uses closed-head nozzles and water-filled pipes can be used for apartment buildings, hospitals, hotels, churches, libraries, restaurants, schools and more.

Fike Micromist Water Mist System
The Fike Micromist system is a self-contained, single-fluid, pre-engineered water mist fire suppression system for total compartment protection of machinery spaces and compartmented gas turbine generators.
Ideal for applications without an existing water supply and can protect areas up to 260m3 with a maximum ceiling height of 5 meters.
Uses a brass nozzle proven to extinguish flammable liquid (Class B) fire scenarios and spray fires that may ignite from a ruptured hose or pipe in a process where flammable liquids are used.
Available in 70-gallon (265 L) and 112-gallon (424 L) configurations. Provides flexibility in selecting the amount of water suppression required for the protected area.
The Micromist system uses relatively short water pulses to help extinguish fires while also minimizing property damage associated with continuous discharge.
The nozzle design is effective in breaking water into small droplets to produce water vapor when in contact with a fire.
The water droplets absorb heat, the vapor produced displaces oxygen, and the cooling effect removes combustion products, providing reliable fire suppression.

Fike Fire Monitors
For hard-to-reach fires, it generally offers automatic and precise fire extinguishing capability within just 15 seconds after detection. It can be paired with any Fike fire detection system to create the best water-based fire extinguishing solution.

With a total nozzle spray pattern, it can discharge up to 1,320 gallons (5,000 liters) per minute at a distance of up to 80 meters.
An operator can also remotely operate the robotic head from anywhere in the world via a joystick, wireless radio, iOS or Android application, or computer.
The areas of use are not limited to those provided and are listed below:
- Aircraft Hangars
- Maritime Applications
- Waste and Recycling Facilities
- Coal Storage and more.

Upon the detection of a fire, it can be programmed to spray certain areas or a human operator can watch the live video and remotely control the unit from anywhere in the world with a joystick, application, or computer.

While wall mounting parts offer coverage of up to 180 degrees, ceiling mounting parts can reach hazards in a full 360-degree area. It can spray up to 80 meters

Thanks to the ability to be paired with any Fike fire detection system, Fike Fire Monitors provide an additional layer of flexibility while designing a reliable fire protection system to protect your critical assets and limit downtime.
