Pre-action Alarm Systems
Product Types
Pre-action systems are a type of sprinkler system used in areas with sensitive equipment. It is a system used in wet pipe sprinkler systems to activate the alarm system before the sprinkler system is activated. When a fire is detected, the alarm is triggered and water is filled into the pipes. If the fire is confirmed, the sprinkler heads open and water is sprayed.
Working Principle:
- Water Pressure: The pre-action alarm valve is installed on the wet pipe sprinkler system piping.
- Sprinkler Activation: In the event of a fire, the sprinklers activate and allow water to flow from the pipes.
- Water Flow: The water flow pushes a diaphragm in the valve, activating the alarm signal.
- Alarm Activation: The alarm signal activates electrical and mechanical alarms.
- Electrical Alarm: The electrical alarm activates alarm devices such as sirens and strobes.
- Mechanical Alarm: The mechanical alarm activates audible alarm devices such as gongs or bells.
- Water Supply: Water is continuously supplied to the sprinklers for the firefighting operation.
